Review: Etude House Precious Mineral Magic Any Cushion #Magic Mint

This review will be about the Etude House Any Cushion in Magic Mint! I got this cushion as giveaway prize from Lala's Wonderland. You can't imagine how happy I was when I got the email that I won this cushion! You can also get the Etude House Any Cushion from Beautynetkorea.com for USD$19.80. Let's just take a look at the product information from Etude House~

I choose the Magic Mint one because I've never tried a green base make up and I have a few rednesses around my nose area and cheek so I was really excited to try this out. It's suppose to tone down rednesses and small scars and even out skin tone. It has SPF34/PA++ and brightening effect. Sounds quite good and promising to me. You can wear it as base under your foundation or BB cream or use it alone if you already have flawless skin.

The product was packed in this small green carton. Most of the text is in Korean with no english translation, just basic translation at the side.

Here's the translation for the back:

By patting the lovely colored magic base for various skin tones onto your skin, you will instantly get more flawless and transparent skin like magic
(I'm too lazy to translate the rest because most of it is same as advertisement ops)

The text at the side is in both languages Korean and English. I really like that they at least made basic information in English because many Korean brands do not do this and it's kinda hard to find out how to use it for foreigners if there isn't an introduction on the site you purchased it. Most of the time I don't read them anyway but for people who do it's more practical lol. You can click on the photo to make it bigger to read the ingredients~

The actual packaging of this cushion looks really pretty and cute imo. I love the pastel color of this product and the small lace design. It's cute but still simple and chic. I will post this photo so you can see it again. It has this milk tea theme QwQ

Here's what the back looks like. There's the product name, information and shade printed on and the date it was made (not the expiration date!!!) 제조 means something like manufacture in Korean, not expiration. I saw many bloggers complaining about their product being expired when bought brand new. The expiration date is normally written with 까지.

You need to push on a small button at the front to open the cushion. Usually, there's a mirror and a cushion pad/sponge (whatever you call these D:) included in the package. The mirror is pretty practical and travel-friendly and nice to apply it 'on-the-go' lol. It's not a zoom mirror though. I think you can also buy a refill of any cushion and put it into this cushion~

The cushion pad can be used to apply the base evenly on your skin. I usually don't use it except when I'm not home because I'm too lazy to bring a make up sponge with me~ (It's pink too hehe). There's also this white plastic thingy to seperate the cushion pad/sponge and the actual make up base, that's a big plus point too because you don't have to worry about the sponge getting soaked by the make up while it's in your bag

When you've just purchased it, there's this small film over the cushion with this written on it:

1. Please remove film after usage (부착된 필름을 제거한 후 사용하십시요)

2. Please close the lid of the cushion completely after usage (사용 후 반드시 용기의 뚜껑을 완전히 닫아 두시기 바랍니다)

Here's what the cushion looks like. It's green and the cushion feels like a sponge soaked in with the base. There's only 15g in this cushion which isn't a lot D: I think this will be the first product I will empty before it expires lol. I usually need more than a year to empty a BB cream OTL.

The cushion is really soft and it's really easy to pick up not too much but not too less of the product either. The cushion pad makes it even easier to apply the base. I never really talked about it but it's actually green to tone down the rednesses. Green is suppose to calm down the red patches (you know green is a calm color). I will show you a close up shot of the cushion below.

It's a bit blurry but better than nothing, right? ^^;; The smell of this cushion is a light floral scent. You can smell it while applying it and for 1 or 2 minutes after application but after that, it fades away and you won't be able to smell it anymore. I find this scent quite pleasant though (It's like 23903 times better than the baby choux face primer line lol).

The texture is really watery kinda like melted ice cream and easy to spread and pat in. It won't feel sticky or anything when it dried and is soaked into your face (sounds gross lol)

You won't be able to feel it on your face after a few minute. Below is a swatch applied on three dots I made with a waterproof marker. One is red (for rednesses), pink (for pimples and other rednesses) and one is brown (for acne scars etc). I put a decent amount of the cushion on it and pat it into the skin.

As you can see in the swatches, the cushion doesn't reduce rednesses that much just a really, reaaally bit. But the acne scars aren't that visible anymore. It's not that obvious on swatches but it does brighten up the overall complexion a lot and make your skin look kinda semi-dewy! You look a lot brighter and the rednesses and blemishes are still there but the skin looks more smooth and well, your face is not like a tomatoe anymore but more like a peach? It's still red but not as red as before. I can't compare with other green make up bases because this is my first green make up base I have ever tried! Honestly, if you're looking for something which will make all your rednesses disappear in just one step, this will not do it but it will help a lot if you apply BB cream after this base. Oh, and this base won't make your face look green, so don't worry! I read in reviews about a few other green make up face bases making their faces greenish like aliens lol xD

I would recommend this to people with a few light rednesses or if you're not minding applying BB cream afterwards to people with many rednesses as well. I think this green base worked better than 'normal' make up bases to cover up and reduce rednesses (obviously). It didn't give you a greenish face too just a light brightening effect. That's why I recommend to give it a try if you really want to test it.

I personally wouldn't repurchase it because I would love to try the one from Mamonde. It's not like this one is bad, it's just that I think that Mamonde's green base could be slightly better because Sunny Da Hye on Youtube is using this base as well and she praised it a lot~

So well.. I know it has been over a month since I last blogged anything but I was really busy and had soo many exams and life was just generally really busy as always lol. I usually always promise to blog more but I can never keep my promise, I'm sorry ㅠㅠ

I probably won't be able to blog in summer break either because my parents want to fly to HK this summer for a few weeks and I really need to play Aion lol. I'm super excited for this trip though. good luck on your exams! i hope you do well on your exams! i've never heard of aion before, is that some kind of social media? like im so uncool bc i dont usually follow up with the social media trend (like path etc etc i never even made my way to download it lol). do you have line? i hope we could be friend on line (ha ha h ah online omg get it) bc i dont think i ever have a close blogger friend, prob because i'm so inactive with my posts OTL (i used to have quite a few when i was into kpop and was so active on tumblr lol idk is this bragging) if you mind tell me your username and i will add you, i havent set my username yet bc idk one line account in a lifetime, so i have to be ~committed~ my uname be so yea i still idk.

...and i realized i havent talked about the product lol. i actually bought the sample size of this like the one with the small container thingy and you get three colors. but i ended up selling it bc i couldnt see how this would control my oil since this have that dewy finish. and my friend who has oily skin too says that this doesnt do anything to her makeup so yea.... im glad this works for you though! i think your skin is already pretty perfect (according to your selca), so yea lucky you! i wish i could find an affordable primer that would do magic to my skin in the future ;;_;;

Welcome back, Mindy! :) I've really missed reading your posts. I totally understand your small hiatus, though, I'm in the middle of exam time as well and it's so stressful! >< I'm having a hard time keeping my blog running properly, too. I'm sure you'll be totally fine in your exams, especially considering the dedication you put into them. ^^

I think it's so cool that you're playing Aion! I used to play Tera but I quit a while back.
Oh right, about the review haha. ~ I actually tried a sample of this product recently and I kinda liked it so I got the Baby Chou base in Mint, I hope it's similar ^o^ I found that the cushion doesn't cover my redness too well but it keeps the BB cream from melting throughout the day so it does improve the coverage. ^.^

Oh and could you link me your tumblr, please? I only recently reopened my blog and I have 0 followers and my dash is dead. ;^;

I have some redness on my nose and cheeks too, and i wanted to get the green one too, but maybe i'll go with the pink one and see if i like it on my face since this doesn't seem to cover redness as much as i'd like.
I wanted to buy this product ever since it came out but it the end i never did because it gets really pricey ;3;
